Sock Hop

Nathan's school is one fun place! They do things all the time that are so fun for the kids. We really love it! Today they had a sock hop to celebrate spirit week (kind of a say no to drugs week). All the students were asked to dress in 50's or 60's attire. I was so excited about this day! I slicked Nathan's hair back with mousse, put on his white t-shirt and church shirt and rolled up those britchie legs! He looked so cute but he was NOT impressed with his hair. He told me that he looked crazy! Ha ha!

Here is a small video of the sock hop. I snuck it to catch all the action. I missed Nathan (he was outside playing) but got the older kids in action. They looked like they were having a blast! The video does not do justice to the sound in that cafeteria! Ha ha!

Fun Jar

Nathan's school is having a carnival this coming weekend and the school asked the students to create a "fun jar" to be sold at the carnival. Each student is to get a container and fill it with any goodies or their choice, then decorate the jar. We decided to buy some candy corn to fill our jar with and decorate with a silly turkey. It turned out pretty cute if I do say so myself.

Christmas Dreaming

Well, it is that time of the year again when Christmas catalogues find their way to my mailbox and a certain little boy begins dreaming. Nathan always enjoys sitting and looking at all the toys and dreaming of what he might find on Christmas morning. So sweet.

Sad How Things Have Changed

Nathan came home from school today and was telling me his class has been practicing drills. They practice fire, tornado and one other drill. When I asked him about the other drill, he said it was for when bad people come to the school. They have to lock their classroom door, turn off the lights and hide in this certain area of his class where the animals are. So sad how times have changed. I remember reading the Bible and praying, but now we are practicing on hiding from someone who could harm us. Why can't people see how much damage has occured in schools when we took God out?

Fall Break

Nathan had fall break from school. When we found out his school schedule over the summer, we planned a getaway with my parents to go camping in the Smokies. When fall break finally came, we packed up and headed out on a Wednesday afternoon to spend 5 days in Pigeon Forge. We have stayed at this campground before in a camping cabin and really enjoyed it. This time, all the family was going to spend a long weekend together. Below are random pictures from our week.

This part of the aquarium is neat! You are taken on a tour by a moving sidewalk through a tank that surrounds you on three sides. It is full of sharks.
